Hi all! I'm Sarah and I am a makeup enthusiast. Most of my social media about makeup is pics only or privatized, so this is my public blog to share all my research and thoughts. I thought the best way to start this blog would be to talk about my ~~holy grail~~ favorite products!
Cleanser - Kate Somerville Moisture Milk Cleanser. It's pricey but a little goes a long way and it lasts forever. I've had a 5oz bottle for months with no end in site.
Mask - I have two favorite masks - I use the Boscia Luminizing Black Mask twice a month, and have done so for about 6 years. I have not tried any of the cheap knock offs on wish or eBay because from what I've seen they are very painful and irritating. I honestly think my continued use of this mask has helped maintain my oily skin and kept my face both clear and youthful all through out my 20s (they'll be over in a few months!) I also use the Ren Evercalm mask about once a week. My skin gets red easily and this keeps that at bay. They both leave my skin feeling very soft and almost poreless.
Moisturizer - I love two moisturizers that are so similar I often mix them up! They both are very hydrating but non greasy. They also both have a strong rosewater smell, which I love, but I know not everyone is a fan of that so I thought I'd mention it. Those products are the Fresh Rose Deep Hydration Face Cream and the Perricone MD Face Finishing Moisturizer.
Primer - Hourglass mineral veil. It just makes you look like an angel. I don't know what else to say. I've been told to try the Nyx angel veil as a dupe and while I like a lot of Nyx products, I have a hard time thinking anyone could dupe this primer.
Foundation - This one is tough! There are a few I like. For a more natural finish, I love Tarte Hybrid Gel Foundation. For a matte finish that lasts all day, I wear Kat Von D Lock-it. I wear the lightest shade in each, except for in the summer I will tend to mix two light Kat Von D shades.
Concealer - Tarte wins this round with Shape Tape. I know, I know, everyone says Shape Tape, but if you haven't tried it, you should. It's seriously the best concealer. I kinda of hate that they only sell it at Ulta, but it's worth the extra trip (I'm a Sephora stan).
Blush - I love Nars in Orgasm and Super Orgasm. I know, again, pretty standard but if ain't broke don't fix it! I'm also a big fan of the Sephora collection blushes. They have amazing pay off especially considering the price.
Lip liner - Colourpop is my favorite for lip liners, although admittedly I'm not huge into lipliner like I am...most all other makeup. I'm working on it!
Lipstick - For liquid lipsticks, I really like the Nyx Lip Lingerie. I know a lot of people don't enjoy the big applicator, but I have big lips so it works well for me. I also love the Hourglass Opaque Rogue Liquid Lipstick. It's almost like a stain. Very long lasting and light.
Eyeshadow - Right now I love my Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance and Kat Von D Shade and Light Eye Quads. Both are highly pigmented and soft, and super duper easy to blend. I can make a variety of looks with each product.
Eyeliner - My favorite felt tip is the Kat Von D Tattoo liner. It's so long lasting and even swim proof. I also really love the Urban Decay Pervision liquid liner. For stick liner, I'm a big fan of the MakeUp Forever Aqua liner, another swim proof product.
Mascara - Hands down my favorite mascara is Blinc Mascara. It creates a tube around your eyelashes so it doesn't smudge on my skin and glasses, something that happens to me with every other mascara since I have long eyelashes. My lashes are also stick straight and this mascara alone makes them much curlier than any other mascara + a curler.
Hilighter - I love, love, love my Anastasia Beverly Hills Moonchild palette. Its' perfect for my light skin tone. My second go to is MakeUp Revolution's Blushing Hearts Hilighters. They are super pigmented and easy to blend.
Setting Powder - Kat Von D Lock It setting powder is my go to. It doesn't come off as yellow on my skin like most powders and is very smooth.
